G5 Solutions: Micron Memories Optimize System on Module
G5 Engineering Solutions releases the gCore6X System on Module based on Micron Memories supporting a Freescale i.MX6 processor.
Tallahassee, FL., January 27, 2014 – G5 Engineering Solutions, www.G5-ES.com, a cutting edge provider of technical solutions and engineering services has released a line gCore6X System on Module (SoM) products utilizing the best technologies from leading semiconductor providers such as Micron Technologies and Freescale Semiconductor.

The gCore6X module represents many work hours of design implementation, honing the connections and routing between memory elements and processor to achieve optimal performance. To take advantage of the DDR3 and LP-DDR2 capabilities, the module utilizes Freescales’ companion power management interface circuit (PMIC), which allows the DDRs to be fully powered-up at the right times. The two LP-DDR2 memories can even be paired with a split of the internal cores to create a single implementation RED/BLACK design.
The SoM can be obtained with a mix of memory densities, and can be populated with most of the Freescale i.MX6 devices with 1, 2 and 4 core offerings. There are standard configurations of memory density and processor, but it can be customized for specified application needs. The SoM uses a standard 314pin MXM v3 connector for board to board implementation.
To aid in rapid software development there is a Quick Start development board available with many popular interfaces instantiated; SATA/USB combo, mini-PCIe, Ethernet, HDMI, USB2.0 Host, USB2.0 OTG, Serial, I2C, SPI, CAN, JTAG, Power & Reset Buttons and 4 Programmable Function Buttons.
